Shackle Insulators

Shackle insulators, also known as spool insulators, are used in low voltage distribution lines to support and insulate conductors from supporting structures like poles or towers. They are designed to withstand the mechanical stress of the conductor, especially at the end of distribution lines or at sharp turns, and are often used in conjunction with binding wires to secure the conductor. Shackle insulators can be mounted vertically or horizontally and are typically made of porcelain, though composite or glass options exist.
